The event “Boruto to Nazo Kakure no Ri -Gejutsu Hen-” will open in all 28 Japan Aeon Cinema locations beginning July 15. The event is an augmented reality game that uses smartphone AR seen through VR goggles. It will be the first chance for fans to enjoy the world of Boruto: Naruto the Movie before it is released on Aug. 7.
“Boruto to Nazo Kakure no Ri -Gejutsu Hen-” is the newest “Net to Real de Taikan Game,” an excursion-type event where participants solve riddles. Previous popular Taikan Games have collaborated with Psycho-Pass and Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works, and now they’ve teamed up with the new generation of the Naruto series, Boruto: Naruto the Movie.
A first for Japan, this Taikan Game is played using AVR, technology that uses VR goggles and smartphone AR. It includes performances by characters Boruto and Sarada who appear right before your eyes. The characters in the game were made using data from the PS4 game Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 releasing in fall 2015, so it seems we can expect high quality.
During the event, participants will receive messages and phone calls from Boruto and Sasuke on their smartphone and advance through a story set in Aeon Cinemas and their adjoined shopping malls. Clips of the characters’ voices have been prepared to which fans will likely want to make sure they give a listen.
In addition, a bonus clear file has also been prepared for fans on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets to the event cost 1,300 yen each (tax included) and only same-day tickets are being sold at Aeon Cinemas.
