The broadcast date of the TV anime Jitsu wa Watashi wa (I Am…) has been set. The first broadcast will take place at 1:35 a.m. on July 6 (Mon.). The anime will broadcast on TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, TV Hokkaido, and TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting.
Jitsu wa Watashi wa is based on a manga currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion (Akita Shoten). Eiji Masuda began serializing the manga in 2013, and 11 volumes have been published. The TV anime adaptation was announced in January of this year. The story follows main character Asahi Kuromine who falls in love with Yoko Shiragami, who it is revealed is actually a vampire.
The TV anime is being directed by Yasutaka Yamamoto from Valkyria Chronicles and Hero Bank fame. Producing the anime is TMS Entertainment who also produces the anime for another Weekly Shonen Champion work: Yowamushi Pedal.
The second key visual has also been released, and this depicts main character Asahi Kuromine surrounded by girls. The anime calls itself a “slightly off-beat outcast love comedy” and features unique characters galore. Another highlight is the characters’ colorful hair.
Already announced as cast members are Natsuki Hanae as main character Asahi Kuromine and Yu Serizawa as heroine Yoko Shiragami. Fans will also be able to enjoy the anime two weeks ahead of its broadcast, as an advance screening event will be held on June 20 (Sat.). With a little under two months left until the broadcast, more information will be released continuously from hereon. Don’t miss any follow-up reports to come.
