Part six of the Nintama Rantaro musical finalized; aiming for new performance with new songs

A new performance of the Nintama Rantaro musical, which was massively popular during its run in January of this year, has been decided on. The sixth showing will start from June 19. As tickets sold out for the last performance, this is a much-anticipated event for those fans who missed out last time!

However, this performance is not merely another showing, but rather a new adaptation, with new songs. The subtitle is “The Fiendish Phantom,” and new characters will be joining in. The venue is Tokyo Dome City Theatre G-Rosso, and the performance is scheduled to run from June 19 to July 5, with a total of 21 showings. All tickets are for designated seating and are priced at 6,500 yen (tax included).

The Nintama Rantaro musical is an adaptation of Sobe Amako’s manga Rakudai Ninja Rantaro and subsequent anime Nintama Rantaro. The series is known for the main character being a sixth grade student at Ninjutsu Gakuen, and developing an original story full of gags, battles, and action. Popular actors appearing in the performance is one of the reasons behind the show’s popularity. Since the musical began in January 2010, every performance has been a success.

In “The Fiendish Phantom,” the usual gang at Ninjutsu Gakuen is doing well. Things aren't much different at Dokutake Castle, and the Tasogaredoki Castle characters introduced in 2014’s musical are in good health.

Attention is also being paid to this year’s venue, Theatre G-Rosso. The theatre, which has been used for hero shows, has a large ceiling, and it’s expected that the level of difficulty and timing for the fights and action will be increased.

Furthermore, a collaborative event with Tokyo Dome City will take place to mark the performance. A talk show event with the cast will take place before the show, and a collaborative menu will be on sale at Festa Cafe and Hotdog Stand. Before the performance on June 7 (Sunday), a special talk show event will take place on the LaQua Garden Stage in Tokyo Dome City, where the sixth graders will appear and take part in a relaxed discussion. At the Festa Cafe and Hotdog Stand, a special Musical Nintama Rantaro collaborative menu will be available.
