The Heroic Legend of Arslan is a TV anime that will begin broadcasting on April 5. The source material is a manga currently serialized in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine that is talked about for being a joint project between Hiromu Arakawa of Fullmetal Alchemist fame and Yoshiki Tanaka of Legend of the Galactic Heroes fame.

The original work created by novelist Yoshiki Tanaka began with the release of the first volume in 1986 and continues to be published even to this day, with the series up to Volume 14. The series boasts deep-rooted popularity and has over 6 million copies in print. Serialization of a comic version of the series by artist Hiromu Arakawa began in 2013. This as well has high support from fans of the original work and fans of Arakawa, and the series has two volumes in print totalling over 1 million copies.
In other news, as was previously reported, Aoi Eir will sing the anime’s ending theme, “Lapis Lazuli.” Attention will further be drawn to the series over how she will express the world of The Heroic Legend of Arslan through music.
