An event will be held for the anime series Locodol, which originally broadcast from July to September 2014. On June 13, 2015, the 2nd Early Summer Nagarekawa Festival will take place at the Differ Ariake Arena, Tokyo. The main cast will be scheduled to appear, and the whole day will be packed with talks and live events.
At the 2nd Early Summer Nagarekawa Festival, appearances will be made by the following cast members:
Miku Ito (voice of Nanko Usami)
Sachika Misawa (voice of Yukari Kohinata)
Maya Yoshioka (voice of Yui Mikoze)
Inori Minase (voice of Mirai Nazukari)
Asami Shimoda (voice of Saori Nishifukai)
Further details will be announced at a later date.
Priority entry tickets will be included with the seventh Blu-ray/DVD release on March 25. Also included as a bonus is a special CD with recordings of original songs by the local idol group AWA2GiRLS that appear in the series. In addition, contained on the bonus-packed discs are images from the Autumn Nagarekawa Festival held in November 2014 and manga drawn by the original author, Kotaro Kosugi. Prices are expected to be ¥6,000 for the Blu-ray and ¥5,000 for the DVD (before taxes).
Locodol is based on an original 4-koma manga series, currently featured in Ichijinsha's Manga 4-Koma Palette magazine. The series depicts the struggles of high school student Nanako Usami and her partner Yukari Kohinata as they come to work as community-based local idols known as the Nagarekawa Girls.
Miku Ito, who voices Nanako Usami, and Sachika Misawa, who voices Yukari Kohinata, formed the Nagarekawa Girls group alongside the anime, and promote the series though events and live shows. The popularity of the show has endured past the end of the broadcast, with the mascot character in the series, Uogokoro-kun, having been made into a costume, and unique events such as dance contests having been held.
