A new season will begin in April for the TV anime PriPara, the successor to the popular 2014 series Pretty Rhythm. Because of fan support, the series is expanding for the second year. The second season will begin in April, and its key visual introduces new characters. Are they friends? Or are they foes? These two mysterious new characters are drawing attention.
First off, the new key visual shows familiar characters including main character Laala, Mirei, Sophy, Sion, Dorothy, and Reona. The bright mood brings anticipation for this April’s broadcast. The visual also shows two unknown characters. These two are new characters for Season 2. One is an angelic idol named Mikan, and the other is a devilish idol named Aroma.
Mikan is convinced that she’s an angel of God and that it is her duty to lift demonic curses. Her outfit based on the color white is radiant. In contrast, Aroma thinks she is a servant of the underworld and constantly tries to curse herself. Her image color is purple. They may be two of the most unique characters in the series to date, but it is unknown whether they are friends of Laala’s or rivals. We’ll have to wait for the TV anime to find out.
There is also a big change for the new season. A new “Dream Theater” zone will open in the theme park world of PriPara. Up till now, the three-member teams have had their live auditions. Now, the anime will be powered up with a five-member team. Expect performance scenes that are even cuter and eye-catching.
The movie PriPara the Movie: Everyone, Assemble! Prism Tours is also slated to be released on March 7. This year will be an even more active year for PriPara.
