Kadokawa’s Media Factory is launching a new boys love label called Fleur Comics. The first works will release on Tuesday, Feb. 17. The works to be published can be seen on the label’s webcomic page, Comic Fleur. They are planning to release them on the 17th of every month for a total of three months, publishing five titles in February, March, and April altogether.
BL is the abbreviation of “boys love,” a genre intended at female audiences that depicts love between males. Comic Fleur was launched in October 2014 as a site that distributes such BL comics free of charge and is updated every Wednesday. Comic Fleur’s branch-off, Fleur Comics, focuses on long-term serialization and it will unfold stories more aimed toward adults. Five titles were chosen from the manga distributed on their website, and the first round is planned to include Nibiiro Musica by Kemeko Tokoro and Focus by Noriko Nishi, both of which have been serialized since the launch of Comic Fleur. Nishi’s Focus revolves around two main characters contributed by Nariko Enomoto, the original creator of Sentiment no Kisetsu and Jikan no Arukikata. The compiled volume will contain the original, specially drawn manga and a retouched version of the contents published, making it a volume irresistible to fans.
To commemorate the launch of Fleur Comics, they will hold a present fair where they will be giving original oil blotting paper and special manga paper to all subscribers as a gift. Special manga paper is available in the five titles to be published, the details will be announced on the website at the end of January. It’s good news for fans that they will be able to read their favorites not only on the Internet but on paper they can hold in their hands.
