Popular artist Eir Aoi has announced her 2015 overseas performance dates. She will hold a live performance as a guest at Natsumatsuri 2015, a Japanese pop culture event to be held on Feb. 27 in Lima, Peru. Since her debut, Aoi has been proactive in performing overseas, but this will be her first time performing in South America.
Natsumatsuri 2015 began in 2008 and is Peru’s leading Japanese pop culture event. In recent years, many Japanese pop culture events have been held all over the world, and there is no shortage of artists, creators, and staff members from Japan invited to these events. However, these kinds of events are new to South America, so they attract few guests from Japan. Nevertheless, Aoi is resolutely taking on the task to promote Japan’s anison culture.
Eir Aoi is a talented artist from Sapporo. She made her major debut in October 2011 will the ending theme to the popular anime Fate/Zero, “Memoria.” After that, she was put in charge of one anime theme after another. She has sung several times for Sword Art Online, a series highly popular overseas, and because of this she is especially well known overseas.
With the addition of her performances at overseas events, her popularity overseas is sky-high. The countries she has performed in thus far include the U.S., Germany, Singapore, Taiwan, Russia, and Indonesia. Aoi is also popular on Facebook, with more than 370,000 likes from around the world. This time, she’s coming to meet fans on the opposite side of the world from Japan.
2015 will also be an active year for her in Japan as well. “Genesis,” the ending theme to the second season of Aldnoah.Zero, will be on air when the anime’s broadcast begins airing just after the new year. This song will be released on Feb. 18. She will also perform at “Lis-Ani! Live-5” at Nippon Budokan on Jan. 24, and her tour, Eir Aoi Live Tour 2015, will begin in May. It seems this year will be another hot year for Aoi.
