Spring 2015 Pretty Cure Movie to feature Song and Dance - Spring Carnival Coming to Theaters March 14

The anime series Pretty Cure is wildly popular among young female viewers. In addition to the TV anime series, the two movie releases throughout the year are considered huge events by fans and are continuing to stir great excitement.

The newest release from this popular show will be the movie Pretty Cure All Stars: Spring Carnival, confirmed for release on March 14, 2015. This will be the 18th Pretty Cure movie to hit theaters.

The focus of attention this time is on the headline, “Spring Pretty Cure Movie, Reborn!!” Until now, new Pretty Cure movies released in the spring have included the All Stars DX (Deluxe) series and the New Stage series. When Pretty Cure All Stars New Stage 3: Forever Friends was released on March 15, 2014, it was announced that this would be the end of the New Stage series.

What this means is that beginning in 2015, the Pretty Cure movie series will start afresh based on a brand new theme. The concept of this new series will be “musical film.” Song and dance scenes in the TV anime series have always received high praise, and in this new movie series they will become the focal point. The goal is to create a fun an enjoyable animated film with song and dance.

It appears that another important aspect of this new series will be the use of CG. Large amounts of CG were incorporated in both the poster and teaser video announcing the movie’s release.

The teaser is approximately 50 seconds in length, depicting an assembly of all the Pretty Cure characters from start to present. The abundant usage of CG is clearly visible in the dynamic scene of all 37 characters singing and dancing on stage.

The poster, too, depicts a grand assembly of all the Pretty Cure characters since the beginning of the anime series in 2004, all rendered with CG. This is the first time in history that Pretty Cure has used CG-rendered character designs for a movie poster. The poster depicts the characters sitting on top of music notes and striking adorable poses on stage. We can surmise that CG will be employed heavily in the actual film as well. It seems that this will become a challenging work, both as a series, and as a single animated film.

Starting Nov. 22, movie theaters throughout Japan have begun displaying the Spring Carnival movie posters. Starting Dec. 27, the ever-popular advance ticket bundles that come with Pretty Cure handbags will go on sale. This time, the advance ticket package is even more extravagant, as scrunchies will be added to the bundle as additional bonuses.
