For many years in Japan, anime broadcast in the morning has been kid-friendly. One such anime that has boasted a huge popularity since it began in 2004 thanks to its wildly enthusiastic fanbase is PreCure. The PreCure franchise begins a new anime every year and is popular not only with children but also adults. Among the sea of today’s anime world, the franchise is highly recognizable.
The new addition to PreCure, titled Dokidoki! PreCure, will begin airing on Feb. 3. Since a new work begins every year for the franchise, the new work takes up the mantle after the old one ends. Dokidoki! PreCure is the tenth TV anime series for the franchise, with the previous series being Smile PreCure.
In Dokidoki! PreCure, the Trump Kingdom has been attacked by an enemy called the Jikochu. One of the fairies from the kingdom is sent to the human world to search for the kingdom’s princess. It is there that she meets the main cast and transforms them into Pretty Cure so that they can help fight against the Jikochu. The opening theme will be performed by singer and voice actress Tomoyo Kurosawa, and the ending theme will be performed by Hitomi Yoshida.
It seems that the climax for Dokidoki! PreCure will take place in early 2014, which also happens to be the 10th anniversary for PreCure. We can’t wait to see what they have planned for the occasion. Look forward to it!
