The “Kenji Kamiyama Wizard Skull Collection,” the second round of collaboration accessories with director Kenji Kamiyama who is known for such hits as Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. and Eden of the East, will be built to order for a limited time from Dec. 15, 2014 to Jan. 15, 2015. Differing from the last round of accessories that had an angel fossil motif, this round features a stimulating design arranged with skulls.
Once again, this second round is a collaboration with the original jewelry brand Dr Monroe, and five accessories total will be released. The motif of the accessories is “Wizard Skull,” and the silver accessories were designed based on illustrations drawn by director Kamiyama. Regarding the collaboration, director Kamiyama commented, “This time I paid a self-homage to one of my past works, and I tried drawing concept illustrations that made rise to the surface the backstory through two stiff, cyber Wizard Skulls facing each other.” As a message to fans, he followed up with, “I hope that with each accessory you get, you enjoy to your heart’s content imagining a story for these two skulls.”
The accessories available in this round are a pendant, bracelet, and ring. The bracelet and ring both have the famous quote by Albert Einstein, “In the middle of difficulty, lies opportunity,” engraved in them, a stylish effect indicative of Kamiyama. The padlock pendant costs 33,000 yen, the left and right pendants are each 11,000 yen, the bracelet is 31,000 yen, and the ring is 18,000 yen (All prices do not include tax.). Each piece of jewelry comes with a certificate of authenticity and an exclusive case.
