ClariS is a two-girl idol unit that had their major debut in the fall of 2010. At the time of their debut, both members were middle school students, and they picked up attention for the fact that they only showed themselves through illustrations. It has been revealed that now, five months after the announcement regarding Alice’s departure from the group, the first song by the reborn “ClariS” that includes a new member will come on a CD to be included in Lis-Ani! Vol. 19 on sale Nov. 8.
ClariS had their major debut with “Irony,” the opening theme to Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai. After that, they released successive hits including “Connect,” the opening theme to Madoka Magica; “Naisho no Hanashi,” the ending theme to the anime Nisemonogatari; and “Colorful,” the theme song to Madoka Magica the Movie: Rebellion. This year on May 26, at the height of their popularity, Alice suddenly announced her departure from the group. Their third album, Party Time, which released on June 4, was Alice’s final work as a member of ClariS.
Lis-Ani!, which is supporting the group’s rebirth, has a history with the group, having debuted ClariS’ predecessor group, Alice Clara, for the first time in a magazine on a CD included in their first issue roughly four years ago. The purpose of this current project is to support and cheer on the restart of ClariS while keeping in mind the group’s roots.
The title of the song created just for this project is “Clear Sky.” The lyrics and composition of the song were handled by composer Mayuko Maruyama, who has supported the group since the very beginning. With a sparkling mid number tempo and sounds that shine, the phrase “This melody starts here” boosts our anticipation of what is to come for ClariS. This is a must-hear song for all ClarS fans.
Also, as a bonus for those who buy the magazine, limited copies will include a “Clear Sky” CD kit. With the kit, you can construct a CD that looks just like a commercial product using a lyrics card and back cover printed on both sides and with the purchase of a jewel case.
