In October 2014, the popular Japanese Vocaloid character Hatsune Miku created a new page in her history as a performer. The songstress, who has to date expanded primarily into Japan and Asia, held her own events in the U.S.
Over the two-day period of Oct. 11 and 12, 15,000 people attended Miku Expo 2014 in LA, which used the Nokia Theatre as the concert venue and the LA Studio Center as the event venue. She displayed her popularity in New York as well with a performance on the popular late night show, Late Show with David Letterman. And 15,000 people were in attendance at the Hammerstein Ballroom concert venue and the exhibit venue of Miku Expo 2014 in NY. New Yorkers who have an ear for music were especially swept up in a daze by the concert.
Though it was the event’s first time in the U.S., Miku Expo closed as a success. Maybe someday we’ll see Miku on stage at Madison Square Garden?
