On Oct. 8, the Vocaloid Hatsune Miku, sponsored by Crypton Inc., appeared on the late night variety program Late Show with David Letterman on the American CBS broadcasting network. During the program, Hatsune Miku performed “Sharing the World,” the theme song of Hatsune Miku Expo 2014 to be held in October in the U.S. A video was uploaded to YouTube after the performance, and many people have already seen it.
The hosting show is a popular American program that has been around since 1993. The host, David Letterman, has been winning the support of the audience with his witty comments for many years, and is a show host well-liked throughout the U.S. Hatsune Miku, similarly to Lenny Kravitz and Lauryn Hill, who have also performed on the show, appeared as a music guest for the performance segment. After the performance ended, Letterman also took a picture with the holographic star.
Miku first appeared before the eyes of her fans during MikuFes 09’ (Summer) in August, 2009 by using the newest CG video that utilizes 2D technology to the maximum.
