Uesaka Transforms into a Manga Artist for “Genshiken: Second Season” Theme Song 1

On July 10, voice actress Sumire Uesaka will release her second single “Genshi, Jyoshi wa, Taiyou datta.” Photos of Uesaka and the jacket art of the three versions of the single are now viewable.

The single is a theme song for the TV anime Genshiken: Second Season, which is about an otaku college group interested in manga. Therefore, the package’s art is related to the otaku world of the anime.

Sumire Uesaka’s photo is an impressive visual that displays her wearing round glasses and wearing a beret. The first edition packaging features the “Genshi, Jyoshi wa, Taiyou datta (Modern Ver.)” art specially drawn by artist Kokudou 12 Gou. The general disc packaging features the “Genshi, Jyoshi wa, Taiyou datta (Retro Ver.)” art specially drawn by artist Toru Morooka. Fans will want to take notice of the contrast between the two due to the song lyrics being used as dialogue on the packages. Also, the anime disc packaging features a specially drawn Genshiken: Second Season illustration.
