Production has been announced on the original TV anime Shirobako which is slated to begin broadcasting this October. A teaser site also opened on Aug. 8. Directing the anime is Tsutomu Mizushima of such series as Girls und Panzer and Big Windup! and producing the anime is hitmaker P.A. Works whose past works include Hanasaku Iroha and Tari Tari. All that is known so far about the work is the above-mentioned staff and production studio, the colorfully designed logo, and the fact that it’s an original work. Other than this, nothing else has been revealed.
We’ve been told that details will be revealed at Comic Market 86 to be held starting on Aug. 15 at Tokyo Big Sight. A PV of the anime will be screened at booth No. 343, the Warner booth. Prospected to be announced here all at once are the staff, cast, character designs and illustrations, and more. Make sure to get to the Warner booth to catch all this new information.
On the other hand, a slight clue has been given in regard to the anime. The catch copy, “The current anime industry, is here,” will surely be an influence on the story. Also, the title, “Shirobako,” is a term that those in the anime industry are deeply familiar with. Just what in the heck does this point to? Look forward to the PV releasing on Aug. 15.
