A TV anime is being made for the popular fantasy manga Trinity Seven - 7-nin no Masho Tsukai, which is currently serializing in Monthly Dragon Age (Kadokawa Fujimi Shobo). Things finally started to pick up on July 7, as activity kicked off to prepare for the fall TV broadcast.
The official site for the TV anime Trinity Seven has also opened and a teaser PV has been released. Moreover, the main staff has been announced and character visuals released showing what the anime will look like.
The story begins with main character Arata Kasuga deciding to become a sorcerer so he can bring back those who are important to him, such as his cousin whom he lost during the sudden “Collapse Phenomenon.” Arata enters a school for magicians called the Royal Biblia Academy. There, he meets seven girls who manipulate magic using the seven deadly sins: wrath, avarice, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony. The curtain rises on a story involving Arata and these seven who call themselves the Trinity Seven.
Directing the anime is hitmaker Hiroshi Nishikiori whose past works include A Certain Magical Index and Azumanga Daioh and the series composer is Hiroyuki Yoshino of Macross Frontier and Magi fame. Producing the anime is Seven Arcs Pictures which also produced Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. How will the fascinating characters that are the secret to the popularity of the original work and the battle scenes be depicted through animation? This is an unmissable work even for those who aren’t fans of the original work. It seems this will be a stand-out work for fall 2014.
Syncing up with the start of the anime’s production, an official comment from director Nishikiori, who is fascinated by main character Arata, has been released.
Official Comment from director Hiroshi Nishikiori:
Various types of girls appear in Trinity Seven and it’s a bustling work, but what I was most attracted by was the main character, Arata. While he is extremely aloof, the actions resulting from his strong will toward his goals though they are in opposition of his own destiny is extremely fascinating. I am consulting with author Saito and illustrator Nao, and, looking toward the broadcast, the entire staff is trying their hardest to make the best anime possible, so I hope you will lend us your support!”
