“The Art of The Wind Rises” six-day art exhibit will begin at Tokyo Solamachi on June 25.

An art exhibit to enjoy art from director Hayao Miyazaki’s The Wind Rises will be held beginning on June 25 at Space 634 in Tokyo Solamachi. “The Art of The Wind Rises” will introduce the fascinating art from The Wind Rises. The exhibit is being held to celebrate the release of The Wind Rises on Blu-ray and DVD and Director Hayao Miyazaki Works Collection on June 18. Look back at the film with materials used in the anime’s creation. The exhibit is limited to six days only and will run until June 30. This will likely make it quite popular.

On display at the exhibit will be materials irresistible to fans. This will include image boards drawn by director Miyazaki as the film’s first step in production, character and scenery art, and art boards with fine art pieces. The exhibit will have over 100 works on display, and the inside story of the film will be told through other materials as well. There is no doubt that through this exhibit fans will be able to fully enjoy this Studio Ghibli and Miyazaki work.

The Blu-ray and DVD of The Wind Rises will be the newest work in the “Ghibli ga Ippai Collection.” Similarly to other films in this collection to date, the package will make use of the latest technology. Director Hayao Miyazaki Works Collection will include Miyazaki’s catalog of work, from his debut film The Castle of Cagliostro to his newest film The Wind Rises.

The exhibit to be held and the video software to release will be a good chance to look back once more at The Wind Rises, a hit work that acquired more than 1 billion yen in domestic box office sales when it released in 2013 and was highly praised overseas as well. It will be held from June 25-30 at Space 634 on the fifth floor of Tokyo Solamachi, located alongside Tokyo Skytree Station on the Tobu Isesaki Line. Advance tickets cost 400 yen, tickets at the door cost 500 yen, and high school students and younger are free. Advance tickets will go on sale May 17 at Lawson stores.
