Hako Vision Part 3: A Handheld Hatsune Miku 3D Hologram Concert for 500 Yen

Hatsune Miku has been announced as Part 3 of the Hako Vision series, a popular way to freely enjoy 3D in the palm of your hand. Bandai, the company behind Hako Vision, announced that “Hako Vision Hatsune Miku” will release on Aug. 11. Hako Vision is a shokugan (a small toy with candy attached) that uses a smartphone. Each one costs 500 yen and in addition with coming with a piece of gum, it also comes with a set that includes a stage and clear plate. By combining the stage and clear plate, a three-dimensional space is created inside the roughly 8.5 centimeter box. Here, exclusive videos are used to full extent and a 3D video experience can be enjoyed. Even the Hatsune Miku 3D hologram live is compact and fits in the palm of your hand.

It is well known that Hatsune Miku was created as a character for the Vocaloid software. She is active as a virtual idol related to Vocaloid. She has also picked up popularity from her grand-scale live concerts that also make use of a 3D hologram. The new Hako Vision is surprising in that it allows for easy enjoyment of a Hatsune Miku 3D hologram concert. It will likely cause a huge stir.

“Hako Vision Hatsune Miku” will come in two types. Each will come with two songs: “Tell Your World” and “Nijigen Dream Fever,” and “World is Mine” and “Story Rider.” In charge of the video production was Wakura-P. Take note of the separate outfits she wears in “Nijigen Dream Fever” and “Story Rider.”

Enjoying the holographic performance begins with the set of a clear plate and 3D object made from the opened box. After that, you scan the barcode on the package using a smartphone. A video will begin playing back, and when the smartphone is placed upside down on the box it creates a pseudo-3D video experience.

Furthermore, the series is expected to keep developing from here on. This includes the implementation of a new system with which a random video can be enjoyed with each scan of the barcode and user-participation projects. A portion of the Hako Vision stage data will be given out for free as part of the user-participation projects and general users will be able to contribute their own original Hatsune Miku videos. This is also worth keeping a close eye on.
