Details on the new anime series based on the tokusatsu (special effects) show Garo have been announced. The title of the anime is Garo: Honoo no Kokuin and it will begin broadcasting this fall. An impressive key visual has also released that shows the gold knight Garo clad in fire with a fighting spirit in his eyes after transforming.
The main staff is comprised of wonderful talent from all sides. Directing is newcomer Yuichiro Hayashi. The series composer and script writer is Yasuko Kobayashi who also worked on the TV anime Attack on Titan. Kobayashi has a lot of experience in the world of tokusatsu shows, including writing the script for Zero: Black Blood. Keep an eye on her putting her expertise to use as she earnestly engages in this TV anime. Producing the anime is Mappa, which created Teekyu and Zankyō no Terror, and Tohokushinsha.
An image board and more where on display at the Garo booth at AnimeJapan 2014, which was held on March 22 and 23 at Tokyo Big Sight. The booth had an overwhelming presence and was surrounded by large screens on all sides. It drew a lot of attention from visitors.
The story and setting of Garo: Honoo no Kokuin have yet to be unveiled, but it’s clear that they are aiming for a work that will draw in previous fans as well as those who come to know the series through the anime. There is likely to be huge excitement for this work that will increase the charm of the beautiful and polished visuals the series is known for in a way only anime can.
Also, before the anime begins, Part 4 of the TV series, Garo: Makai no Hana, will be broadcast on TV Tokyo and other networks beginning on April 4. The series has created a unique history for itself as an adult tokusatsu drama that liberally uses the newest CG/VFX technology. Look forward to this new step forward for the series.
