The Strike Witches series began in 2007 as an OVA and successively widened its reach with a two-season TV anime and a theatrical movie. Now, the series’ next target is another OVA. It seems the project announced at the October 2013 event “Strike Witches the Movie - What We Can Do Together!” is finally getting underway.

According to the announcement, this new work is called Operation Victory Arrow. It will take place in the time span between the ending of Operation Mars in Season 2 of the TV series and the beginning of the movie, and it will depict each of the members returning to their home countries. Operation Victory Arrow will consist of three 30-minute episodes. The first will be released this fall. Also, to commemorate the start of this new project, a theatrical event screening will be held. Fans will be able to appreciate the work on the big screen as well.

Strike Witches is a media mix series that began in 2007 and broadened into anime, manga, games, and novels. The work gained popularity due to fans’ support of the characters who are each themed after a different aircraft and pilot. The most recent large project in the series was the theatrical movie that released in the summer of 2012. Being that it has been two years since the movie, this new OVA has been long-awaited by fans.
