Continuing on from the surprise announcement of the new TV anime M3: Sono Kuroki Tetsu on March 13, new information has now been announced. This includes the broadcast times, staff, cast, theme song artists, introduction, and a talk event to take place on March 22 at AnimeJapan 2014. From the new information, we’ve gathered that the work is a sci-fi anime set in a near future Tokyo and that there are eight boys and girls with interwoven fates. A strong push is being made toward the start of the broadcast in April.
As previously announced, directing the anime is Junichi Satō. He has brought to the world hit works time and time again, and now he’s tackling the sci-fi genre. This is likely to cause buzz. Supporting Satō is series composer Mari Okada, who has a reputation for creating drama that moves the hearts of viewers. Because this work combines adolescence, anguish, friendship, love, hate, and fate, it seems to be highly anticipated by fans. Producing the animation is Satelight, and in charge of the mecha that have still not been revealed is Shoji Kawamori. This is a grouping of top creators.
The anime will first broadcast on April 21 late night at 1:35 a.m. on Tokyo MX and KBS. It will then broadcast on Sun TV and TV Aichi. It will start on TV Hokkaido and TV Kyushu on April 24.
According to the introduction, the story is about an expedition to the Avidya Zone which consumes human spirits, and follows eight boys and girls who band together to confront strange beings that wholly embody the despair and chaos of humanity. Also, it will be depicted through a complex crossing between the present day in which impending disaster looms and the fate of the past.
Voicing these eight characters are Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Akashi Saginuma, Yōko Hikasa as Emiru Hazaki, Kotori Koiwai as Sasame Izuriha, Tomoaki Maeno as Iwato Namito, Sayuri Yahagi as Raika Kasumi, Tetsuya Kakihara as Minashi Maki, Misato Fukuen as Maamu Yuzuki, and Ayumu Murase as Heito Isaku. This will be a unique group of eight.
May’n will sing the opening theme song, “Re:Remember.” She was the singing voice of Sheryl Nome in Macross F and has created many hit songs such as “Ao Zora.” The ending theme will be “Ego-izm” by La La Larks.
Things have finally begun being revealed for M3: Sono Kuroki Tetsu, but there is a good chance that even more information will be revealed at AnimeJapan 2014 to be held at Tokyo Big Sight. A talk event with director Satō will also be held at the Satelight booth (East Hall 5-J3) on March 22. Special guests are also planned so keep your eyes on this event. It will be held from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. and it is free to attend, but make sure to get there at least 20 minutes beforehand. If the event reaches capacity, those wanting to attend will be turned away, so take note.

In a complex crossing between the present day in which impending disaster looms and the fate of the past, can eight boys and girls, assembled to confront the Imashime, find the bright future that lies before the Avidya Zone?”
