Ikuyo Hashiguchi’s popular novel Shonen Hollywood is becoming an anime. An “anime × novel × real” crossover project has already begun, but information on the anime has finally been revealed. Along with this announcement, the anime’s main visual and main cast were also revealed. The TV broadcast will begin in July, and the anime will take place 15 years after the events of the novel. Likely to generate buzz is the fact that author Hashiguchi is working on the anime as series composer.
The novel Shonen Hollywood was published by Shogakukan Bunko in July 2012. The work is set at the theater Hollywood Tokyo and depicts the growth and dreams of young boys who are idols in the making. The TV anime will not only take place 15 years after this, it will also be set at the fictional theater Hollywood Tokyo in Harajuku. The original story will depict the diligence and growth of the idol group Shonen Hollywood. We wonder how this will be portrayed in the anime.
There is a main character among the boys, and the voice cast is full of popular, young, and talented seiyū. Playing the members of Shonen Hollywood are Ryōta Ōsaka as Kakeru Kazami, Tetsuya Kakihara as Ikuma Amaki, Daiki Yamashita as Kira Saeki, Shōta Aoi as Daiki Tomii, and Kenshō Ono as Shun Maiyama.
Directing the anime is Toshimasa Kuroyanagi, series director on “Say ‘I Love You.’” Creating the animation is Zexcs, which also created Diabolik Lovers and Cuticle Detective Inaba.
There is still much about this anime that is unknown, but a production announcement event is scheduled to take place on March 18 at the Nakano Sun Plaza. At the event, many tidbits of information are likely to be announced.
