An OVA will be released for Wild Adapter by Kazuya Minekura, a manga artist well known for the Saiyuki series. Minekura is widely popular among females and because of her involvement, this anime adaptation is generating a lot of buzz. Being adapted into an anime is the especially popular sixth volume. In total, the OVA will span two volumes. News that will make fans happy above all is that Minekura is overseeing the entire project. Minekura herself is creating the storyboards for the opening and ending sequences.
Coming before the release of the first volume on March 26, a new PV for the OVA has been released on YouTube. This video showing a world of intense battles is a must-see. The PV shows a portion of scenes from the OVA, and the opening theme, “Hyoryusha,” can be heard in the background. The singing voices of Toshiyuki Morikawa, voice of Makoto Kubota, and Hideo Ishikawa, voice of Minoru Tokitoh, will drive up fans’ anticipation even more.
The limited edition of the first volume of the OVA, titled Wild Adapter: Zen, will cost ￥9,500 (excluding tax). A selling point is also the great bonuses. These include a sleeve case drawn for the occasion by Minekura, audio commentary by two members of the main cast, and a special CD featuring an original drama and messages from the characters.
After Makoto Kubota leaves, Osamu Kibo becomes the leader of the Izumokai Youth Division. At the order of Izumokai daikou Sanada, he begins investigating the mysterious drug Double A. He learns of the existence of a boy named Tokitoh who has a monstrous right arm as a result of the drug, and Sanada, who is interested in why Kubota is protecting him, orders Kibo to kidnap him.
In order to survive in this dark world, Kibo follows Sanada’s orders and kidnaps Tokitoh while Kubota is away. After returning and finding Tokitoh missing, Kubota goes after his kidnappers. To bring back Tokitoh, he will attack the Izumokai by himself…
