A 2014 TV anime for Love Stage!!, which is currently serialized in the female-oriented magazine Ciel, has been announced. In addition to this, information on the staff has been announced as well. A talented staff has been lined up, and it seems a complete work can be anticipated.
Directing is Ken'ichi Kasai who has worked on many series starting with Bakuman, Miracle Train: Welcome to the Oedo Line, and Honey and Clover. Above all, it seems likely he will demonstrate his abilities in this work as well, being that he is a creator skilled in female-oriented works. The series composer is Michiko Yokote who has had an abundant career that includes RDG: Red Data Girl, Senyū, and Genshiken Second Season. The character designer is Yōko Itō who worked as the animation director on Bakuman and Golden Time. Producing the animation is J.C. Staff, a studio that has teamed up with director Kasai countless times before on such works as KimiKiss: Pure Rouge and Nodame Cantabile.
At the same time the staff was announced, the official site of the anime also opened. A key visual on the site shows main characters Izumi Sena and Ryōma Ichijō. We look forward to how this BL work depicting love between two men will be expressed as an anime.
The original work for Love Stage!! is a manga written by Eiki Eiki and illustrated by Taishi Zaō. The work is a love comedy that begins with Izumi Sena, an otaku college student who comes from a family of famous entertainers, confessing his love for voice actor Ryōma Ichijō. A spin-off novel titled Back Stage!! has also been published, and the series is picking up tremendous support from female fans.
