The broadcast time for the Flash anime Keroro has been announced. The anime will air at 19:00 on March 22 during Animax’s new programming block, Keroro Hour, during which both the new anime Keroro and the previous anime Sgt. Frog can be enjoyed. First up will be a 5-minute broadcast of Keroro followed by the Keroro Classic Collection which will feature two episodes of Sgt. Frog back-to-back. Fans will be able to enjoy not just the new Flash anime, but also all episodes of the Sgt. Frog series as well, which amounts to over 300.
A project is also being prepared for fans. Starting on Feb. 1 on the official site for Keroro on Animax, fan-made photos and illustrations of Keroro will begin being accepted. All kinds of works themed around Keroro and his friends will be accepted including charaben and handmade goods. Submitted works will be introduced each week at the end of Keroro Hour. Works will also be chosen and published in Monthly Shonen Ace, in which Sgt. Frog is currently serialized, by the magazine’s editorial staff. Those selected will receive wonderful presents. The submission period will run from Feb. 1 to July 15. To submit a work, your address, name (pen names are also okay), the episode the work is from, and a message to Keroro are required.
A Keroro campaign also began on Jan. 27 at 09:00 at the restaurant chain Sukiya. Those who order a menu item as a “Suki Suki Set” will receive a special figure of one of the members of Keroro Platoon as a present. The lineup includes five versions in total, and the campaign will end once supplies run out.
Keroro is based on the currently serialized manga Sgt. Frog created by Mine Yoshizaki. The familiar voice cast from the anime adaptation of Sgt. Frog will be returning for Keroro, including Kumiko Watanabe as Keroro. The anime is also once again being produced by Sunrise. Directing is Haruki Kasugamori who mainly works on comedic series that use Flash animation.
