Orders began being accepted for special items celebrating the 45th anniversary of Golgo 13 on Nov. 29. The items are a figure & cubic theater set and a model gun called “S&W M-10 Golgo 13 Dave Armament Company Spec.”
Golgo 13 is a manga created by Takao Saito that has serialized for 45 years straight since 1968 without a single break. On Sept. 5, Volume 170 was released. Including related publications, a total of 278 million copies have been printed for the series. The 45th anniversary items reproduce in detailed, realistic form Golgo 13, who can be called a national character of Japan.
The items now for sale were first introduced and displayed at a grand 45th anniversary party held on Nov. 13 at Imperial Hotel. The figure stands 18 centimeters in height and has an elaborate appearance that includes his trademark custom M-16A2 rifle. His white suit and fearless expression are worth taking note of. The cubic theater is a monument to Golgo 13. Cubic theaters are popular products etched with lasers that show famous scenes inside them in 3D. Inside this crystal cubic theater is a minutely expression skeleton logo design. It is 8 centimeters tall.
The model gun is 184 mm in length with a barrel length of 2 inches. It weighs 520 grams (including the bullets). The gun features special 45th anniversary flourishes imprinted on the side, under the cylinder, and on the bottom of the grip. Another addition is a case made completely of wood. Those purchased before Jan. 11 will also come with a limited reproduction of an original drawing from the manga, so those who are interested should order theirs soon.
