Madoka Magica the Movie: Rebellion will release throughout Japan on Oct. 26. The release date is drawing near, and a new key visual has now been released. The visual depicts a new magical girl not yet seen in the series. Due to there being so much mystery still surrounding this latest movie, the appearance of this new character is likely to bring even more attention to the movie. Furthermore, the second round of advance tickets for the movie will begin on Sept. 7. The special gifts that comes with each ticket will be a poster set of the magical girls.
The mystery character appears in the visual with an uneasy expression on her face. The name of this new magical girl is Nagisa Momoe. Details on her are unknown, but she appears to be younger than the other magical girls. Momoe will be played by Kana Asumi, a popular voice actress who has lent her voice to main characters in many works including Haiyore! Nyaruko-san and Hidamari Sketch. The previously announced cast includes the same main cast from the TV series: Aoi Yūki, Chiwa Saitō, Kaori Mizuhashi, Eri Kitamura, Ai Nonaka, and Emiri Katō. We wonder how Asumi will fare as one of the magical girls. Anticipation from fans is sure to increase from here on.
The poster set that will come with each advance ticket purchased during the second phase of advance ticket sales will include two posters. One will be a design featuring one of the six magical girls––Madoka Kaname, Homura Akemi, Sayaka Miki, Kyōko Sakura, Mami Tomoe, and Nagisa Momoe. The other will be a poster common to each of the sets that features a silhouette of Madoka and the title of the movie. General tickets cost 1,500 yen and reserved seating tickets cost 1,600 yen (both prices include tax).
