On July 8, the anime The World God Only Knows: Goddesses Arc began broadcasting. This is the third season of the popular series that follows main character Katsuragi Keima aka “The God of Conquests" who is a genius when it comes to romance simulation games and Elsie, a demon who suddenly fell from the sky. The original work is a love comedy manga created by Tamiki Wakaki that is currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday (Shogakukan). The last two seasons were broadcast in 2010 and 2011, respectively.
The Goddesses Arc is the longest story in the original work, having been serialized for roughly two years, and the production team is challenging themselves to create episodes that largely convey the original work’s dramatic content. Furthermore, in addition to the well-known characters, new characters will also be introduced this season. A voice cast of popular stars who are active in many works has been assembled for these roles. Kujyo Tsukiyo is played by Yuka Iguchi who played the role of Index in A Certain Magical Index, Goido Yui is played by Ayahi Takagaki who played Sakai Wakana in Tari Tari, and Lune is played by Haruka Tomatsu who played Asuna in Sword Art Online.
The director for the anime is Satoshi Osedo, the same person who directed the 2012 OVA The World God Only Knows: Tenri Arc that came included as a special bonus in the manga. Other staff includes Hideyuki Kurata from Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai as series composer and Akio Watanabe from Bakemonogatari as character designer. These two have been a part of the anime since the first season. The anime is being produced by Manglobe, which also produced The Unlimited - Hyobu Kyosuke and Carnival.
