Mikoto is able to make it past the traps set by Frenda, a member of the shadowy organization ITEM who accepted a job to protect the remaining facilities, and corner her. Right before her eyes, a dazzling ray of light then darts past her. Who appears is the leader of ITEM: the fourth ranked Level 5 esper who goes by the name of Meltdowner, Mugino Shizuri. The exhausted Mikoto tries to flee, but instead of Mugino’s fierce attacks ceasing, they follow closely behind her. This is due to the power of yet another member of ITEM who is standing behind Mugino––. Meanwhile, Nunotaba, who is at the Neurological Analysis Institute, cements her decision that she should bring an end to the experiments herself.

Mikoto has been taking action to stop the crazy experiments in which clones of her are created and killed. However, the enemy won’t just let her destroy everything they have worked toward, and they hire assassins from an organization called ITEM to stop her.
Mikoto is able to corner one of the assassins, but before she can subdue her, another assassin suddenly burst through the wall using a powerful attack. This new assassin is an esper at the same level as Mikoto. Already worn out from the previous battle, Mikoto tries to escape. However, she can’t seem evade the assassin’s detection and her attacks just keep coming. This is due to yet another member of ITEM: a girl named Takitsubo Riko who has an ability called AIM Stalker which lets her sense Mikoto’s AIM field and see her anywhere in the facility. Because of this, Mikoto can run, but she can’t hide. Meanwhile, Nunotaba, who is also trying to stop the experiments, finds herself in a pinch.
Up until now, Mikoto has found herself in dangerous situations, but has always managed to escape. However, the enemy this time is unrelenting. This is the first time seeing Mikoto sustain so much damage. The fact that her enemy is the same level esper as her spurs a sense of despair. It becomes clear that while she wants to rely on her friends for help, at the same time, she doesn’t want to put them in harm’s way. Don’t miss the conclusion to this fight between Mikoto and this tenacious and insane enemy!
