The unique TV anime Hyperdimension Neptunia, based on the popular game with the same name, will begin broadcasting on July 12 in Japan. On May 24, information was released on the new anime’s opening and ending themes.
The opening theme will be Nao’s song “Dimension Tripper!!!!” Nao is active as the founding vocalist of the musical duo fripSide. She will be performing the theme song solo. Nao is perfectly suited for the task since she also performed the theme song of the game Hyperdimension Neptunia. As early as July 24, two maxi versions of the single will release: a Neptunia collaboration version and a version including a DVD. The DVD-attached version for 1,890 yen is an enjoyable product that will include special bonuses such as a “5pb.chan Heart Guitar Pick.” The Neptunia collaboration version will cost 1,260 yen.
The ending theme will be Afilia Saga’s “Neptunia Sagashite.” Afilia Saga is made up of 11 members from the cafe and restaurant network Afilia Group. The group is co-produced by Chiyomaru Shikura and Haruko Momoi. On Aug. 7, three versions of the single will release for fans to choose from: a version attached with a DVD (2,000 yen), a Neptunia collaboration version (1,890 yen), and general A,B, and C versions (1,000 yen).
In 2010, Hyperdimension Neptunia was released for the PlayStation 3, and the characters designed after game consoles became popular. Voice stars of the game Rie Tanaka, Asami Imai, Kana Asumi, and Rina Satou will be voicing their same characters in the anime. Masahiro Mukai is producing the anime. He has also worked on Ben-To, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and other popular anime. Shogo Yasukawa is in charge of series composition and screenplay. Hitomi Takechi is in charge of character design. David Production, the animation studio responsible for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Inu x Boku SS, will be managing the anime.
