Lumine Man and “Ghost in the Shell” Collaborate, Production I.G Creates Original Visual

Ghost in the Shell: Arise, releasing in theaters on June 22, and Lumine Man, the leader in men’s fashion trends, have collaborated. Lumine Man was created as Lumine’s first men’s store, and it is popular among young people.

The campaign is running now in all 16 Lumine Man Shibuya shops, and they are aiming to expand it to increase brand knowledge among consumers. The campaign began on June 1 and will run until July 11.

To match up with the start of this campaign, Production I.G, the studio behind Ghost in the Shell: Arise, has created an original visual for it. The visual shows main character Kusanagi Motoko and the new machine Rojikoma in front of Lumine Man Shibuya. This visual is being used as an original novelty poster and train station poster.

From the first day of the campaign, the poster was displayed in the store along with another poster of Rojikoma wearing items from the shop. Aside from this, as a limited time project, a figure of Rojikoma was displayed in the store from June 1-6, and from June 28 to July 11, a collaborative cafe called “Cafe Maduka x Ghost in the Shell: Arise” will open. These finely detailed festivities will greet visitors.

Also part of the campaign is a clear file folder changed weekly that is given as a present to those who spend more than 5,000 yen in the store. There are six versions of the folder: Kusanagi Motoko, Aramaki Daisuke, Batou, Togusa, Rojikoma, and one featuring all the characters. The version given out depends on the amount purchased on one receipt, and the folders cannot be exchanged. The folders are also limited and will only be given out while supplies last.

Ghost in the Shell started as a manga created by Masamune Shirow in 1989. Until now, various movies and TV series for the work have been produced, and it has gathered a huge following.

The long-awaited new work Ghost in the Shell: Arise is a tetralogy that will kick off with the first part, Ghost in the Shell: Arise Border 1: Ghost Pain, on June 22.
