The first part of the film Saint Young Men that released on May 10 in Japan is being broadcast for free on the major video distribution site GyaO. The portion is about four minutes long and features the first witty back and forth chat between Buddha and Jesus of the work as reimagined in the film’s unique production. Before going to the theater, you can enjoy just a bit of the film. The official site also features trailers and cast commentary.
Also, a special booklet titled “Saint Young Men - God Story: Last Night’s Descent” is being distributed to theater attendees for free. The front illustration was drawn by the original work’s author, Hikaru Nakamura. The booklet includes an illustration gallery, post-recording report, voice star interviews, and an unreleased volume of the manga. The booklet is limited and is being distributed on a first-come basis. It’s certainly a precious item for any Saint Young Men fan. Fans in Japan are recommended to get to the theater as soon as possible.
On the film’s release day, Mirai Moriyama, the voice star who plays Jesus, and Gen Hoshino, the voice star who plays Buddha, appeared at Toho Cinemas Roppongi Hills and Shinjuku Wald 9 for stage greetings and to enliven the fans gathered.
