New Series “Gatchaman Crowds” Announced

It was made public that an anime series that is likely to attract attention is going to start this summer. Gatchaman Crowds will begin airing in July on Nippon Television Network’s Midnight Anime. This anime is reborn from Science Ninja Team Gatchaman, a TV anime series that started its run in 1972. Gatchaman Crowds is going to be an entirely new original anime with a brand new storyline. It is planned to span 12 episodes, each at 30 minutes in length. The studio familiar from the previous series, Tatsunoko Production, will be responsible for production.

Science Ninja Team Gatchaman is a representative hero work that started broadcasting in October 1972. In addition to its three TV series, it also has movies, an OVA, and long-selling character goods. It’s popularity is known outside Japan as well. It started broadcasting in America and other parts of the world in the 1980s under the name G-Force.

This franchise has been growing even more popular in recent years. ZIP! Good Morning Science Ninja Team Gatchaman started in 2011, and a live-action movie will be released in theaters Japan-wide on Aug. 24.

Gatchaman Crowds takes place at Tachikawa, Tokyo, a city that functions as the second capital of Japan in 2015. In this city of 180,000 as the main stage, a story of the rebirth of heroes unfolds. Along with the live-action film, Gatchaman Crowds is likely to make a big impact.
