Nagi Yanagi’s Newest Single “Yukitoki” Releases, Music Video Becomes Available

“Yukitoki,” Nagi Yanagi’s fifth single as a solo artist, was released on April 17. The song has picked up a high amount of attention for being used as the opening theme to the currently airing anime My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU. A 90 second version of the song’s music video is also available on Yanagi’s official site.

Yanagi picked up attention in 2009 when she was a guest vocalist on Supercell’s CD Today is a Beautiful Day. She made her solo debut in 2012 with the song “Vidro Moyou,” which was used as the ending theme to the TV anime Waiting in that Summer. The lyrics to “Yukitoki” were created by Yanagi herself, while Round Table’s Katsutoshi Kitagawa was in charge of the composition and arrangement.

Regarding her new song, Yanagi had this to say: “From the song’s big theme of “thawing,” I imagined the changing of the season to spring. The flowers that had been imprisoned by cold water slowly begin to open and new life begins to sprout up as the colors change. The song became a vessel in which these changes can be felt. I’d be happy if together with the song you can feel the warmth of spring.”
