New PV for “Mememe no Kurage” Features Song by Livetune

The Livetune featuring Hatsune Miku song “Last Night, Good Night (Re:Dialed)” has been selected as the theme song for Takashi Murakami’s first directorial film Mememe no Kurage, which released in theaters on April 26. A new promotional video for the film featuring the song has been released.

This new PV has been designated the “special film version PV” and uses many clips from the film. The PV introduces the mysterious creature called “friend” who plays a key role in the film and conveys the film’s unique world.

Another noteworthy aspect of the PV is the quick appearance of a CG version of Murakami’s artwork “Miss Ko2”. Of the many works he has produced, “Miss Ko2” is said to be Murakami’s representative work. A life-size figure of the work was auctioned in 2003 and sold for 68 million yen. This quick cameo adds even more charm to the PV.

On April 21, the film festival “Switch Movie Fes. 2013” was held at Toho Cinemas Roppongi Hills. At this festival, a screening event called “Takashi Murakami Short Films 15” was held at which Murakami appeared on stage for a discussion.
