The Concourse of Akihabara Station Is Now a Place for New Anime Promotions!

On April 5, 2013, the countdown booth from Star Blazers 2199 was put up in the first floor concourse inside the JR ticket gates in Akihabara Station. The area was decorated with a more than 5-meter-long image of Yamato, which gathered a lot of attention from passengers. This promotion was coordinated with the start of the anime’s broadcast (April 7), and on that day models appeared in cosplay as characters from the show.

On April 11, a statue from Valvrave the Liberator was set up in the concourse. The grand statue of the main robot, Valvrave I, was more than 2 meters tall, and emitted a presence as strong as that of Yamato. In addition, flyers of the anime were distributed, and a plastic model exhibition was held as well.

These promotions are starting to become an attraction for Akihabara Station. What will the next promotion bring?
