On April 7, the film adaptation of the parody anime It’s a Glass Mask, But... was announced. The movie is titled It’s a Glass Mask, But... the Movie: A Female Spy’s Love! The Purple Rose Has a Dangerous Scent?!
Suzue Miuchi, the original author of Glass Mask, even thought the television anime It’s a Glass Mask, But... as a parody was completely unexpected. The anime is produced by DLE, which is also producing the film. The company became popular with the anime Eagle Talon, and have a huge reputation for being a spoof and gag anime and entertainment company. They are referred to as the “house that breaks the boundaries of anime.” The film will be the first in the Glass Mask series.
The parody film follows the Crimson Goddesses, a trio of international spies including Maya, Ayumi, and Tsukikage as they search for a stolen treasure called “Diamond Mask.” Regarding the film, Miuchi commented, “I am just as perplexed. Not only is there an anime and a movie, but they are also using these three characters!”
The film will release on June 22, 2013.
