On March 30, as part of Anime Contents Expo (ACE) 2013, a completion ceremony was held for collaborative monorails between Chiba and Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai (or known simply as Oreimo).

On the Open Stage at ACE 2013, Tsukasa Fushimi (the original author of Oreimo), Osawa (the president of Chiba Urban Monorail), and officials from ASCII Media Works (the company that publishes the manga and novel of Oreimo) and Aniplex (the company that produces the anime for Oreimo) gathered for the ceremony.

The crowd livened up when Osawa announced that the collaborative monorails began service that day and that 180 fans were lined up in the morning, waiting anxiously to ride the monorails first. Osawa went on to explain that he persisted in making the plan a reality in part to bring more interest to the region, to which the crowd exploded in applause.

A movie called “There’s no Way My Monorails Can be Finished,” which showcased the making of the monorails, was then shown. When the movie ended, Fushimi commented, “I am deeply moved, and I definitely want to ride them.” The level of authenticity of the monorails was enough to get Fushimi’s seal of approval.

Changing gears a bit, new information was announced for the series. First was regarding the second season of the anime. It was announced that the second season will span 16 episodes in total with 13 episodes broadcast regularly on TV and the last three broadcast back to back. It was also announced that the Volume 1 Blu-ray and DVD will be released on June 19, and the first limited edition will include a short novel drawn by Fushimi. Regarding the second season, Fushimi commented, “In order for fans of the original work to fully enjoy it, I requested that the episodes follow the original work as much as possible,” to which cheerful yells sprung up from the crowd.

The embargo on information regarding the 12th volume of the novel was also lifted, and it was announced that the novel will go on sale on June 7. On being asked about his thoughts on finishing the final volume, Fushimi confessed, “I had thought that I would want to take a vacation, but being finished with the final volume, I actually feel lonely.”

As the last bit of info, it was announced that the following day, March 31, a screening of the first episode of season two would take place in the theater area at ACE 2013 and that an important surprise had been prepared. The event ended with Osawa and a whole crew of actors appearing on stage and giving the order to depart.

At the screening the next day, voice stars Ayana Taketatsu (Kousaka Kirino) and Kana Hanazawa (Kuroneko) made appearances. Fans who attended the screening couldn’t be happier with this surprise.

With its novel coming to an end and the second season of its must-see anime underway, for those who still haven’t experienced Oreimo, now is your chance!
