On Aug. 31, a fan appreciation event titled “Senyu Fes” (tentative title) will be held at Nippon Seinenkan for the five-minute-long short anime Senyu, which is currently broadcasting on TV and being distributed through Nico Nico Channel.
Senyu began as a webcomic by Haruhara Robinson that was serialized on Nico Nico Seiga. The series became the site’s most popular work, gaining more than 12.5 million views. It then began being serialized in Shueisha’s comic magazine Jump Square. The story is a gag fantasy that follows a dunce of a novice hero named Alba and his sadistic warrior friend Ros as they journey to end the Demon King’s oppression.
The anime, which began broadcasting in January, is directed by Yutaka Yamamoto of Lucky Star and Kannagi and written by Michiko Yokote of Joshiraku, C Cube, and Valkyria Chronicles.
Little is known at this point regarding “Senyu Fes.” However, it is known that director Yamamoto as well as voice actors Hiro Shimono (Alba) and Yuichi Nakamura (Ros) will make appearances. Forms for buying advance tickets to the event will be included in the first editions of Volume 1 of the Blu-ray and DVD of the anime, which will be released on April 24. For those who want to attend the event, make sure to pick one up.
