Arata: The Legend, which is currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday, is author Yu Watase’s (*Fushigi Yugi*) newest work. Now, it’s becoming a TV anime!
Hinohara Arata, who has become distrusting of people after being stabbed in the back by a friend, is suddenly transported to another world called Amawakuni. Meanwhile, the Arata from Amawakuni is framed for the murder of the princess due to a coup d’etat during her acceptance ceremony orchestrated by the princess’ retainers, the Twelve Shinsho. He flees into the forest to lose his pursuers and changed places with the modern day Arata as he is transported to the modern day world. Amid the chaos of the sudden coup d’etat, the Arata stuck in Amawakuni then finds out that he is able to wield a Hayagami, a god in the form of a sword. With such power, the fate of Amawakuni rests on his shoulders.
Amid the chaos of the sudden change of events, Arata awakens the god of Amawakuni, Hayagami, and becomes burdened with the fate of the world on his shoulders. This is the beginning of Arata’s story toward his destiny.
