Saint Young Men is a huge hit comic by Hikaru Nakamura that has over 9.6 million copies in print. The first anime movie for the series will be released in Japan on May 10. Not much is known at this time about the movie’s story, and fans are anxiously awaiting new news. To tide fans over, a new image visual for the movie has been released.

The new visual features Jesus and Buddha having fun in the shopping district of Tokyo’s Tachikawa Station North. The two are strolling through Tachikawa and Jesus can be seen holding a travel guide book. The drawing also depicts the personalities of the other people in the shopping district, which reproduces the work’s comical feel. This visual is contrastive of the first visual released, which shows Jesus and Buddha in Heaven.

The story of Saint Young Men takes place in modern day Japan and follows Jesus and Buddha, who are sharing an apartment in Tachikawa during a vacation. In the movie, Jesus will be voiced by actor Mirai Moriyama and Buddha by musician Gen Hoshino. For both actors, these are their first voice acting roles.

The movie is being directed by Noriko Takao, who is known for his work on the anime THE iDOLM@STER. The script is being written by Rika Nezu, who primarily focuses on live-action dramas. Character designs are being handled by the talented animator, Naoyuki Asano.
