The Family Gekijo channel will broadcast a 26-episode marathon of the 1974 television series Space Battleship Yamato beginning on April 27. It’s been roughly 40 years since its initial broadcast, however, it is still often seen on TV. Now, the HD remastering of the series will be broadcast.
The broadcast will begin at 11 a.m. and end at midnight, running roughly 13 hours. Seven of the full-length films for the series will also be broadcast after the marathon, including Space Battleship Yamato: Resurrection on April 27 at midnight and Space Battleship Yamato on April 28 at 11 a.m.
Space Battleship Yamato is a Japanese sci-fi anime. Since its creation in 1974, many more works in the series have followed. The original Yamato has also been boldly revamped as Space Battleship Yamato 2199, which will begin it’s much talked about television broadcast on April 7. Yamato has achieved a fanbase that crosses over generations, and this HD remastered marathon is sure further increase its fanbase even more.
