Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association (CESA) has announced that the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2013, a festival for both those in the gaming industry and fans, will be held at Makuhari Messe from Sept. 19-22. The application period for exhibitors has begun.
Themed around “continuing the evolution of games,” this year’s TGS will see the inclusion of several new additions. For one, TGS has been largely expanded this year. Previously, TGS was held in Halls 1-8 of Makuhari Messe; this year, the event will also take place in Hall 9 and the Event Hall. This was done to decrease congestion and increase the comfort of attendees.
Contents on display as well as the festival’s events have also been increased. New areas for TGS 2013 will include an Otome Game Area, a Cloud Gaming Area, Cosplay Area, and more. TGS 2013 will also include game related events, such as screening parties, and concerts.
On the business side, influential companies in Asia will be introduced, as well as many promotional campaigns targeted at overseas audiences. Furthermore, an English version of TGS’s official video channel will be opened with the aim of broadcasting the festival to overseas audiences and conveying the attraction of games to a wider audience.
