The Japan premiere event for the Gintama live-action movie was held on June 28 at Tokyo Dome City Hall, with the entire main cast making appearances. As if we needed more excitement before the movie’s official release on July 14! This event was themed to be like a summer festival in honor of the season so in keeping with that, everyone came wearing yukata!
1,500 fans came to the premiere to see Oguri Shun (Gintoki), Suda Masaki (Shimura Shinpachi), Hashimoto Kanna (Kagura), Elizabeth, the portable Gintama Shrine, and director Fukuda Yuichi, as well as the incredible supporting cast including Yagira Yuya, Arai Hirofumi, Yoshizawa Ryo, Hayami Akari, Muro Tsuyoshi, Nagasawa Masami, Okada Masaki, Sato Jiro, Nanao, Yasuda Ken, and Nakamura Kankuro VI.
The cast talked about their different experiences filming, giving fans a lot to look forward to, like one scene where Gintoki gets covered in honey. The event then ended with Oguri yelling, “Summer! Festival! Gintama! as cannons went off.
