The newest art for the original robot anime Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince, which will begin broadcasting on Tokyo MX and other networks this April, has been released. Staff for the anime includes Keitaro Motonaga (*Katanamonogatari*, Jormungand) as director, Hisashi Hirai (*Mobile Suit Gundam SEED*) as character designer, and Reiko Yoshida (*K-On!*) as scriptwriter. With such a stellar staff, there is a lot of anticipation for Majestic Prince, and the new illustrations offer a look into the work’s world.
Humanity has ventured into space and is embroiled in a battle with a mysterious and powerful race called Wulgaru, which has driven the human race to the verge of extinction. However, the secret military agency MJP has a trump card to play; they have developed cutting-edge devices called Ash to use in the battle against the Wulgaru. The fate of humanity rests on the young men and women who pilot the Ash.
A gallery of artwork is now viewable on the anime’s official site. The gallery includes art of the Global Defense Force (GDF) base on Earth, the space station Star Rose (where the main characters live), and the interior of the MJP mother ship. Comments from the art director Minoru Maeda and the set designer Goichi Iwahata have also been posted.
