Japan’s national anime Doraemon has finally debuted on smartphones! On Feb 15, Doraemon distribution began on “dVideo Powered by BeeTV” (dVideo), a service for smartphones sponsored by NTT Docomo. Doraemon: Nobita’s Secret Gadget Museum, the most recent Doraemon theatrical work which was released on March 9, is also planned to become part of the service.
dVideo is a fixed amount distribution service for smartphones. The service boasts over 7,000 titles from within Japan and abroad, including anime, manga, and dramas. The total content line-up is approximately 57,000, and the popular service plans to expand even more. As of Jan. 14, 2013, the service’s total users were 3.7 million.
Twenty-seven Doraemon episodes were carefully selected for distribution. Included is the particularly famous episode “Nobita, Goodbye! Doraemon, Returns to the Future...” Even if you’re not a fan yet, this is a must-see episode that will deeply move you. For those who haven’t seen Doraemon, why not take this opportunity to check out the anime? You won’t be let down!
