Hatsune Miku is active all over the world. Many events, such as the live party “Mikupa♪”, are routinely held for the virtual diva, and, due to fans’ passion for Miku, she continues to spread throughout the internet, attracting an ever-growing fanbase. Due to this cycle, Miku’s momentum seems unstoppable.
Among her fans are also those outside of mainstream attention who help build upon the Miku phenomenon. An example of this is the one-member club “Miku Summons Club”. The club’s one and only member, Aome, was so moved when he saw “Mikupa♪” in Taiwan that he formed the club in January of this year. He is active on Nico Nico Geijutsubu, and he uses a POLID screen to research and develop Hatsune Miku’s pseudo-holographic image. The clear screen onto which Miku’s image is projected is made using polyethylene and vinyl. So far, Aome’s research has been a success. Such a feat wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for his enthusiasm and knowledge.
Aome is now planning an unthinkable “One Person Mikupa” using his research. He has reserved a hall big enough for 300 people where he plans to put on a Miku concert by himself. This is what you would call diehard ambition. For many Miku fans, such an ambitious project was probably only thought possible in the realm of imagination. However, it seems that Aome is making this delightful daydream a reality.
