Browser games and game apps for iOS and Android smartphones have been making an impact in the game market. This movement can also be seen in Japan. In the last several years, an uncountable amount of browser games and game apps have been released.
One such game is Osawari Tantei Nameko Saibai Kit, a popular game app that has been downloaded more than 24 million times. Now, a collaboration between this popular game and the Japanese convenience store chain Lawson has begun. The collaboration item is called “Kinokoman (Butter and Soy Sauce Flavor)”, which is a type of Chukaman made using four varieties of mushrooms wrapped in wheat flour and fried in butter. Each Kinokoman is completed with an image of the main character from the app, Nameko, imprinted on the top. The cost of one Kinokoman is 138 yen including tax. Kinokoman began being sold in Lawson stores across Japan on Feb. 12.
Osawari Tantei Nameko Saibai Kit is a spinoff of the 2006 Nintendo DS game Osawari Tantei Ozawa Rina. The game was released as a free app in 2011. Even though the app was released five years after the game, the app is what made the series famous. In December 2012, the sixth season for the app Osawari Tantei Nameko Saibai Kit Seasons, titled Winter in Europe, was released. Why not take this chance to play this monumentally popular game app?
