“A blackout occurs in Tokyo due to the effects of the solar storm. Amid the chaos, the service robots on the hacked server begin rampaging through the city. Frau’s account is hacked and she is framed as being the cause of the berserk robots. Kaito, determined to bring an end to the dire situation, challenges the hacker to a Kill Ballard duel.” - Official episode guide
It is revealed that Frau became a shut-in and created Kill Ballard as a way to preserve Gunvarrel and the memories of her mother, who disappeared. Trampling Frau’s intentions underfoot, the game is hacked and used in the robot insurrection, and Frau becomes a suspect.
Kaito challenges the hacker in Kill Ballard and he uses his splendid “slo-mo” ability, at a great cost on his body, to win the fight. However, the fight wasn’t to stop the robots or even for his own pride; it was only to save Frau.
Kaito manages to win by the skin of his teeth, and the robot incident is resolved. It is later revealed that the real culprit, who had been brainwashed, was found dead in the Philippines.
The mystery deepens and another calamity waits on the horizon. Look forward to more on Frau and the return of Gunvarrelas she carries on her mother’s feelings.
